BYOD Policy

1.0 Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to establish guidelines for the use of personal devices, including smartphones, tablets, and laptops, in the workplace to ensure the security and integrity of SQETCH Studio’s information and network systems.

 

2.0 Scope

This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and consultants who use their personal devices to access SQETCH Studio’s resources.

3.0 ACCEPTABLE USE

 Employees may use their personal devices for work-related purposes provided that the device complies with the following requirements:

a. The device must be password-protected and encrypted.
b. The device must have up-to-date anti-virus and anti-malware software installed.
c. The device must not be jailbroken or rooted.
d. The device must be kept up-to-date with security patches and software updates.
e. The device must not be shared with anyone else.
f. The device must be used only for work-related purposes.
g. The device must be compliant with any other relevant company policies, including those related to acceptable use of technology and information security.

Employees are responsible for protecting company information and network systems when using personal devices for work-related purposes. This includes the following:

Responsibilities

  1. Data must be transmitted and stored in a secure manner.

  2. Employees must not download or install unauthorized software.

  3. Employees must not modify or remove company information or software from their personal devices.

  4. Lost or stolen devices must be reported to IT immediately.

  5. Employees must follow company guidelines regarding data backup and retention.

 

4.3 Password Deletion

SQETCH Studio is not responsible for the loss or damage to any personal device used for work-related purposes. The company is also not responsible for any personal data lost due to the use of personal devices for work-related purposes.

 

5.0 Compliance

Failure to comply with this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
